Footprints

It’s been a long time now since we were able to stroll the quiet side of the Cayman Islands, and many are concerned.  The natural greenery of the swamp land in the background, undisturbed by the influx of development is long gone, although on a sunny Sunday afternoon this scenery can still be captured in North Side, Grand Cayman. 

Satin on canvas hewn in pure rayon, this piece is almost entirely stitched and took about six  and a half hours.  There are eight pieces, and although this is my first small piece of work, because there is so much thread, it made me realize that small pieces do indeed take more time and are much more intricate to produce.  I was however very proud of the results.
