Peace and Quiet

Cotton/felt/and a zillion stitches on canvas.

Again, life in the Caribbean.  A wooden house built on a high cistern provides safety in times of high waves from the sea, peaceful in the background mountain view.  Green grass and a large yard invite freedom to roam, and children to play.  The pride and care of plants enhance the peace and simplicity of life in the Caribbean where flowers in bloom reflect unmatchable beauty under the light of the majestic sun.  The home may belong to an elderly person who invites friendship, love and protection, through the open door.

 Each colour is a separate piece, each flower individual, each leaf blended with another behind and beside.  There are at least 500 pieces, 16 different stitches, identically matching threads, and about 80 hours of total concentration, blending colour, light and precision.
