I began working on "My scenes of Cayman". I
recalled my childhood in Cayman Brac. Not far from the Bay but not
on the sea, was a little house, as nice as could be! There were
numerous trees, many with flowers, and grass and white sand surrounded the
immaculately kept yard. As the trees swayed and one felt the
breeze, a lovely little girl played dolly house, under the trees.
It was a quiet, lonely time, and windows and doors
stayed open, particularly on Sundays, in the true anticipation that
friends would drop by. And so it was in the Cayman Islands, warm,
friendly......just one happy, sharing, caring, loving family encompassing
everyone.
And so it was......Peace in my mind.
45 hours work and ten small pieces, this composition is
virtually all thread-painted. Cotton/satin/polyester on canvas, the
piece comes framed in black and gold, with delicate gold fillet, under
non-glare glass. The black creates a diorama which brings to life,
the beauty of living in the islands. This piece would make a wonder
Tropical array in a setting along with the four pieces called Rasta party.
