West Bay Homes

Somewhere in West Bay, while driving around on a Sunday, taking a look at the changing face of Cayman, I came across this lovely scene.  It brings to life true Caymanian lifestyle.  Simple homes, the fore front cistern, large trees near the house, and the housekeepers’ pride in caring for the plants, which beautify the whole scene. 

Cotton on canvas.  I could not number the pieces in this work, as there are hundreds!  So many tiny flowers, each of which is individual.  So many leaves each of which is also individual.  I worked on this piece for about six weeks, as I had to put it away for a rest.  Finally as I sewed the shadows in the sunlight, I decided it was finished. 

The reward?   People recognize it.
